Opie, Richie Cunningham, the Fonz, and Andy Weigh In on Obama

Just for fun folks. I chuckled when I saw this Funny or Die video from Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, and Andy Griffith urging us all to vote for Obama and change. If you're as old as I am, at least in midlife now, then you may have grown up seeing The Andy Griffith Show with Opie (Ron Howard) and his father (Andy Griffith) in Mayberry sharing simple life lessons.

In my teens, I watched Happy Days, another Ron Howard show that featured Henry Winkler as the king of cool Fonz. I think I loved the idea of the 50s with its sock hops and hot rods. But I do recall thinking as a teen that as a black girl in the south I could never have had that kind of life. Perhaps that was part of the fun of watching it, pure escapism.

Well, Ron got together with the Fonz and Pa to make the following video on the need for change. There's even reference to Sarah Palin, a loose vs. moose mix-up. :-) Ron and company actually dress up and reprise their roles from these classic sitcoms.

If you're younger than I am, then you may have watched these shows on Nick at Nite or on the TV Land channel, and if you're more into movies than television, they you should know Howard as a director.

In the Funny or Die video, Howard says in the last eight years this nation has gone down a divisive and wrong-headed path. I agree.
