John McCain and Sarah Palin (Tina Fey) Raise Money on QVC (SNL)

John McCain was much funnier than Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live last night, and as usual, Tina Fey as Palin was a riot. The two, in a desperate move, raised money on QVC, the shopping channel. John McCain laments that he can't buy airtime like Barack Obama, but he says, "I'm a true maverick, a Republican without money."

Highlights
: Palin selling Joe action figures--Joe the Plumber, Joe Six Pack, and Joe Biden, a doll that won't shut up; John McCain pushing his pork knives, and Cindy McCain showing jewelry to promote McCain's fine gold (a pun).

Best of all, Fey as Palin says she's "going rogue" and whispers her secret plan to the audience as she sells special Sarah T-shirts. Watch the sight gag. I'm not going to give it away.

I nearly split my side watching the opening just as I did while listening to the real Sarah Palin pranked by the Canadian Masked Avengers. She thought she was talking to French President Nicolas Sarkozy (listen).
