Obama's First Press Conference

Watch President Elect Obama's first press conference now here, at this link. More information here at AFP. Updated 2:28 p.m.: CNN has the story also, and there swift with the transcript.

MSNBC's not slouching either, and the first link up top to HuffPo featured streaming video from CBS News.

Here's the MSNBC video of the press conference:

He's looking very presidential, talking about the economy, a stimulus package, security issues (vaguely), taxes, and of course, he had to answer a question about Malia and Sasha's puppy. He'd like to get one from the pound or shelter but "A lot of shelter dogs are mutts like me," he said. Obama realizes the family may not be able to save a pound puppy since Malia has asthma, and so they need a hypoallergenic dog.

I've also been informed that Obama has set up a new website, Change.gov.

Here's a clip from CNN in which he talks about selecting schools for the girls, what books he's read, which former presidents he's spoken to, etc.

Love that Obama is on the job nearly from Day One. Even though he pointed out that there is only one President at a time -- and it's Bush until Jan. 20 -- he's clearly ready to kick butt.
