Child's Body Found Possibly in Ja Shawn Powell Case; Father Confesses

Updated again by WWL TV: This case closed pretty quickly.
Police said the father, Danny Platt, 22, confessed to killing his son, though police would not say how he killed the boy.

This follows a few hours earlier, when the Orleans Parish coroner removing the body of a young child from a Central City location, after police were searching the area near where the two-year-old boy was claimed to have been abducted.

The body, however, has not been officially identified as Ja Shawn Powell, the missing two-year-old, but police said that Platt led them to the body and confessed. (WWL TV)
Well, I guess this means I no longer have to write the "alleged" murderer.

Earlier report: This story of the Ja Shawn Powell case in New Orleans, La., has been updated again at WWL TV. As I wrote earlier on the fishy story, the tale of a 2-year-old black child whose father claimed was taken from him at gunpoint.
The Orleans Parish coroner has removed a body of a young child from a Central City location, after police were searching the area near where a two-year-old boy was claimed to have been abducted.

The body has not been confirmed to be the body of the child.

The body was found in the 1700 block of Jackson Avenue, near Van McMurray Park. The alleged kidnapping took place near the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Brainard Street, a few blocks away from where the body was found. (WWL TV source)
You can read the older story and commentary right here with links to the breaking news story. It seems to be another case of domestic violence, which is what I figured it would be.
