Old School Friday & TV Theme Songs

This week's theme for Old School Friday is TV theme songs. I went with the obvious for my first song, the TV theme song that had me and my cousins dancing as the show came on, the one we all liked to hum, the one students liked to beat out on the back of bus seats on their way home and yet the bus driver never complained. You guessed it, right? Mission Impossible (1966-1973)!

I struggled with my second selection. Didn't know if I wanted to go with sweet music, such as the theme from Room 222, or something funny like the theme from Gilligan's Island. I gave up and decided to boldly go where many bloggers have probably gone before, but I couldn't help myself, the Star Trek theme. The last show aired when I was 9, but the series repeats forever. And I will go see the new movie coming out this May and targeting a younger generation.

Yes, I was a Trekkie. If I had known about the conventions later, before I had children, I may have attended and embraced my geekier self.

The creators of the Old School Friday meme are Mrs. Grapevine and The Marvalous View and has these rules, if you want to join the party.

Mission Impossible: I loved the show and loved the theme even more. I was right there in to catch the entire show for every episode. I wouldn't have guessed that you were a Trekkie! I was not, but most of my friends were. Excellent choices!

OK I absolutely refused to watch Star Trek, but I love the theme for Mission Impossible. That's a great theme that is recognizable by everyone. :)

You have "boldly gone where no bloggers have gone before." ;)

Great picks and I mean it—originality all the way here!

These theme songs are immediately recognizable, which makes them great theme songs.

I didn't get a chance to post this week.
