Revenge of the Naked Mole Rat on a Facebook Meme

I did a Facebook Meme called "Letter," for which you may scroll down and read the rules. Anyway, for one of the questions I had to name an animal that began with the letter "N." While I sifted my brains, my son came in and told me about the Naked Mole Rat. I looked it up and Eeew! I said, "I'm so using that."

Then he told me, "Now go to Google Images and search Rufus Kim Possible." I did that and her Naked Mole Rat, that you see here first, ain't nothing like the real thing, which you see farther below. Leave it to Disney to make the spooky seem fun and possibly lovable. The real thing looks like inspiration for a creature in a Japanese horror flick, something that skitters toward you on the side of the hallway wall.

Now that I've insulted this creature, I'm sure it will have its revenge. Undoubtedly it will star in one of my dreams tonight. I can't believe I'm posting on rodents again, but at least time it's not a mouse in someone's Chinese food this time.

From Wikipedia:
The naked mole rat (Heterocephalus glaber), also known as the sand puppy, or desert mole rat is a burrowing rodent native to parts of East Africa and the only species currently classified in genus Heterocephalus. It is notable for its eusocial lifestyle, nearly unique among mammals (only the Damaraland mole rat shares the trait), and for a highly unusual set of physical traits that enables it to thrive in a harsh, underground environment; including a lack of pain sensation in its skin, and a nearly cold-blooded metabolism. And here's another picture in which the mole rat appears to be alive, unlike the first pic.

My daughter said, "They aren't TOO ugly."

I replied, "You can see their internal organs!"

You clearly should have posted a warning! I almost spit wine all over my laptop! That thing is very gross, creepy and scary.
The thing in Kim Possible is such a cutie! These clearly are not of the same species!
Thanks, I'll never be able to watch Kim Possible again without that horror in my head!
