Battlestar Galactica Alert!

Are you a human or a cylon? I'm a BSG fan; that's SciFi Channel's exceptionally well written and produced hit show Battlestar Galactica if you don't watch it. Despite being a fan, I've never written about it at this blog. I don't need to because so many other people are writing about this show and writing about it well.

Case in point, I'm alerting fellow fans and curious bystanders to a "fraking (pronounced fracking) good" post by Megan Smith at BlogHer. Megan came to the BSG party a little late, says she started watching the show last summer, but then loved it. The first show of the new BSG aired October 2004. The series ends this year.

I've watched it from day one, and I also watched the original Battlestar Galatica as a teen. Little comparison between the old and the new, mostly contrast.

Megan writes, "BSG has mysticism, messy politics, and characters who are well drawn and fascinating." She also discusses its feminism via the original show's Starbuck Dirk Benedict's rant against the new BSG and others who disagree with old Dirk.

Read Megan's link-rich BSG post here. In addition, she's cross-posted it at her blog Megan's Minute.

The widget below is running interviews with some of the BSG cast at Comic Con 2008, moderated by Kevin Smith, who's funny. He calls BSG "the single best show ever created in the history of TV." Be warned, he uses foul language often. Here's a link to the video at YouTube also.
Link to SciFi BSG site here at which you can watch full episodes and webisodes.

Related: There's talk of a Battlestar Galatica movie, but get this, not so much to the new formula but the old one. What the frak!
Recaps anyone? And what did you think about Boomer last week?

Yep, I am. From way back. BTW, I see on your profile you read the late Octavia Butler. I love her work.

Yes, Netflix has it.

The show's writing and production is fantastic.

Thank you for your visit.
