OSF: Heart of the Song, Happy Old School Friday!

Old School Friday's Theme is songs with "heart." I'm glad I was up late tonight because I struggled with this one. First choice, "Key to My Heart" by The Emotions. Beautiful harmony, as with all their songs.

"Heart is a House for Love" from the movie The Five Heartbeats, which we know is really about The Dells. I have a Dell collection but hadn't listened to this song for a while.

I could kick myself. After I posted I remembered Al Green's "How Can You Mend a Broke Heart?" but thought it wouldn't be fair to change out videos (The Dells) once I started commenting on other people's choices. :-)

The creators of the Old School Friday meme are Mrs. Grapevine and Marvalus at OBW and has these rules, if you want to join the party.

You may have had a hard time but you came out swinging with that Emotions. I don't think we'll see this one around. Great choice!

Happy OSF!

Thank you, Rev and Vivrant.

But while I was posting at 3 in the morning, the words kept popping into my head "broken heart." It wasn't until I woke up this morning that I realized what my brain was trying to do, remind me that one of my favorite songs is Al Green's "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?" LOL. I would have posted that one instead of The Dells, even though I'm a Dells fan too.

Oh, I'm getting old.

Thank you both for visiting.

As soon as I saw the Emotions, I thought of the DeBarge song of the same title. :-)

You've got two classics, can't go wrong with these.

Happy OSF!

I had a feeling about the Five Heartbeats, I knew it would be popular, but I'm feeling the Emotions pick the most. I haven't heard it before it's pretty, I like it...

I think my comment posted, I forgot to wait for a confirmation. I like the Emotions song, it's simple and refreshing...

Looks like the 5 Heartbeats are getting the nod this OSF! I can see why, though. And the Emotions pick is definitely sweet.
Enjoyed it!

The Emotions tune has me swaying my head...the other reminds me of that scene in The Five Heartbeats when Choir Boy comes from behind the curtain with that high note...good stuff!
