Old School Friday: If I Were a Boy (Male)

I've had a busy day and just got to my Old School Friday meme now, 9:00 at night, and boy the theme is a whopper brain twister. I had to give it some serious thought.

The theme is inspired by Beyonce's song, "If I Were a Boy," but to fulfill it, per OSF rules, we must use old school music produced prior to 1999.

After considering what kind of man I would be "if I were a boy," I decided that at this stage in my life, I'd think about relationships pretty much the same way I think about them as a female at this stage: I'd tell the opposite gender "no games." Really, grow up already! And so, I choose Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is."

But I'd want to look like one of these guys below, neither of which is a singer, to my knowledge.

The creators of the Old School Friday meme are Mrs. Grapevine and Marvalus at OBW and has these rules, if you want to join this theme party.

I try to participate in Old School Friday each week because it's good for the soul. Click this link for all my OSF posts.

Ooh...that song just hits you in the gut! That is telling the truth, for real!

Great choice!

BTW, I cannot believe you had never seen the D'Angelo vid before...you, my dear, have been robbed of one of life's most delicious treasures. LOL...

"No games" - I hear you loud and clear. That's some serious eye candy in your post!

Have a great weekend.

I like your OSF choice. I tried to avoid the personal relationship thing because my choice would of been Roses by Outkast! (LOL!)

I like this song. It pretty much sums up how I would feel if I was a male. It also applies to how I feel as a female.

Happy OSF to you!

"Tell it Like It Is," is one of my fave Aaron Neville records. Loveit.

OK the musical selection is just right, but you did the thing with who you would want to look like. There is nothing wrong with a tall cup of cocoa (Richard T. Jones). :D

Happy OSF!

Oh, I used to watch Andromeda just to look at Tyr Anasazi (Keith Hamilton Cobb) - having Kevin Sorbo on the same screen didn't hurt either!

I love Aaron Neville and had the privilege of seeing him live in New Orleans some years ago. Unforgettable.

Good choice - but for me you could have picked any Neville song, lol! But the one you picked is great because "no games" is the only way to deal with relationships or life.

Thanks for stopping by my PopArtDiva™ Retro Baby Boomer Blog this week!
