Facebook 101 or 'Fix Your Facebook'

Maybe you already have your Facebook page right and tight. I don't, which is why I appreciate Melanie Nelson's latest post at BlogHer, "Fix Your Facebook." Really, I'm plugging her post here just so I can find it easily at my own blog, and I've also bookmarked it.

She has a section on how to use Facebook to promote your blog. I've been eying that aspect of Facebook, even signed up my blog, but I haven't had the time or the inkling to review how to use the tool to its full potential.

But I may never use Facebook's fun-and-games apps, the send ice cream, give bling, plant a flower in so-and-so's garden, compare your friends--all that stuff kind of gets on my nerves. However, I did see someone playing mafia game and giving someone a Glock or something. That seemed like fun. Maybe it was a symptom of my stress level at the moment. Maybe I was angry and attracted to violence.

Be careful. My parents are relatively normal, stable adults in their sixties and they are pathologically addicted to Mafia Wars. I'm a subscriber through my reader and I just wanted to thank you for your continued good writing.

I love Mafia Wars! I play it on FB and on Tagged! It is addictive. I just have one picture posted on FB. I took it one day playing with my camera. It is not the best photo of me. But it will do for now.

I'll have to check out the post on how to fix your FB page. I'm still learning my way around the site. Any intelligent help would be greatly appreciated.
