Obama Is Right to Keep Border Open, Says Swine Flu Expert

President Barack Obama should not close the U.S.-Mexico border in response to Swine Flu outbreaks, New Orleans author John M. Barry said on WWL-TV this morning. The president took the appropriate course of action by keeping it open, said the writer who is also a visiting scholar at the Tulane/Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research.

Barry wrote the book The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History about the 1918 Swine Flu crisis and is not swayed by calls to shut out our southern neighbors.
