Swine Flu Case in New Orleans Confirmed, 7 total in Louisiana

That Tulane doctor who thought the child from Audubon Charter School had swine flu was right, and the Louisiana state health officials were wrong. The Centers for Disease Control have confirmed that the child in question who saw the doctor at Tulane's Uptown clinic has Swine Flu and so do the five students from Cathedral-Carmel School in Lafayette and another person in Ascension Parish. In total, seven (7) cases of swine flu aka H1N1 virus have been confirmed in the state, reports WWl-TV New Orleans.

The Times Picayune reports that the state sent nine cases off for testing. Two came back negative for swine flu.

The patients who tested positive have been given anti-virals and sent home. None are in the hospital, which seems in keeping with the Swine Flu in the United States, relatively mild cases overall.
