That was Alexander Siddig on Merlin

Alas, there are still people who mix up James Callis of Battlestar Galactica with Alexander Siddig of Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Web surfers still come to this blog after googling "Siddig Battlestar Galactica."

Sad, and the two men know this. Having compassion, they each will sign as the other when asked to autograph the other's photo by confused humans.

I was once one of these poor, lost souls, as I confess here in an older post. Fortunately, I have recovered from that sorry state. Once I looked at the two men side by side, I decided Siddig was the better looking bloke. However, both men are talented actors.

A few weeks ago I saw Siddig in an episode of NBC's Merlin on demand TV. He was in "The Moment of Truth." Immediately I knew it was Siddig and not Callis. Siddig, while quite handsome, is looking older these days, more gray hair, which cuts down on his being confused with Callis.

Siddig played the vicious Kanen in Merlin. That's him in the picture here being killed by Prince Arthur. So, he won't be back on that show.

Siddig, along with Avery Brooks and Andrew Robinson, was one of my favorite actors in Deep Space Nine (a very underrated series, if you ask me). He also did great supporting work in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven (an annual of mine). Fun post, Nordette.
