Exploring Better Living: Positive Thinking

A two-part post that I wrote for BlogHer.com is now live. Part One is "Can You Change Your Life With Positive Thinking? Yes." Originally it was entitled "Do we underestimate positive thinking?" I suspect we do.

The focus of Part Two is an interview with the founders of GivesMeHope.com and Operation Beautiful, Gaby Montero and Caitlin Boyle respectively. Both these young women believe that positive thinking will lead anyone to a better life.

And I thought it would be a good time to post an image of the fleur-de-lys (fleur-de-lis) because 1.) I'm rooting for the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl and 2.) the fleur-de-lis, which in French means lily flower, is an actual flower that blooms annually. It's a type of iris that has become strongly associated with heraldry and royalty, but using the image the fleur-de-lis in this post, I reflect on its history as a symbol of hope, faith, rebirth, and enlightenment. Aside from Who Dat, another battle cry for this season has been "Believe."

The print here is by artist Linda Paul.
