3D Games May Stunt Children's Eye Development, Says Nintendo

Nintendo is warning buyers of its new 3DS that exposure to 3D gaming could stunt eye development in children under six years old. I saw this story at CNN, where the writer says it's possible to switch off the 3D functionality.

Nintendo further warns:
"... everyone who plays the 3-D gaming system to take periodic breaks from the games as often as every hour or 30 minutes."
It seems all visual 3D technology poses a risk, even 3D television, which by the way is not doing so well in the market.

My son, 20, says he still plans to get the new 3DS and that Nintendo always gives warnings to rest your eyes, but gamers never pay attention to them.
