Sarah Palin Headed for Divorce?

According to Alaska Reports, Sarah Palin and husband Todd's marriage is on the rocks. The story says the former governor of Alaska, former vice-presidential candidate and her oil-field worker, former Alaska Independence Party member husband are headed for divorce.

While I'm not a Palin fan, I would caution anyone to take this news with a grain of salt because when you're as loathed, loved, and controversial as Palin, the rumor mill grinds on overtime. However, beneath its latest Palin story, Alaska Reports pointedly reminds readers that it was "the first website to report that Sarah Palin was running for governor of Alaska and the first website to report that Sarah was picked as John McCain's VP candidate."

If you were paying attention during the campaign, then you likely heard rumors that Palin cheated on her husband. But really, National Enquirer is not a reliable news source. Today's divorce whispers indicate there was hanky-panky on both sides.

And there's speculation based on Palin behavior observation. MSNBC's Norah O'Donnel reports that after Palin's farewell Alaska speech, husband Todd was "left behind."
Sarah Palin not only left her perch in the governor's office; she also left behind her husband Todd after yesterday's ceremony in Fairbanks.

After swearing in the new governor, Palin made a quick exit with daughter Piper and son Trigg in tow. She jumped in a Chevy Silverado twin cab driven by her security detail.
Todd Palin followed just seconds behind, and was left struggling to avoid a phalanx of cameras. The problem: His family had already left. (MSNBC)
Ugh. I would hate to be a "media darling." Every little detail of your life gets scrutinized, but my sympathy for Palin is thin. She's clamored for the spotlight. And as I said at BlogHer, "Palin's already bouncing checks at the 15 Minutes of Fame Bank." Lady, go away.

Nevertheless, for the sake of her children, it would be good if the media would not make mountains out of molehills until all the moles have signed sworn affidavits that they aspire to build mountains.

Need more Palin? Watch Rachael Maddow's coverage of Palin's farewell to Alaska speech with Palin's anger at media's going after families juxtaposed to Palin's putting her family in the line of fire. Hmm. Even better, try William Shatner's recitation of the speech as poetry. Finally, if you'd like to read Palin denials and stories from her side only, see her Facebook page or maybe Fox News.

Perhaps this was the situation that Palin was trying to avoid disclosing during the press conference.

Maybe the Palin's will be able to repair their marital relationship. If they do divorce it is really going to have impact on her future political aspirations. Especially within the ranks of the GOP.

Hee! The sentence that still has me laughing!
